Accessibility statement
We want every Tennessee homeowner to be able to use this site, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnifiers or voice control.

What standard do we aim for?
Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
What have we done?
- Every page has a "Skip to content" link, clear headings and labelled regions (header, navigation, main content, footer).
- Everything works with a keyboard alone, and the item in focus always has a visible outline that isn't hidden behind the sticky call bar.
- Text meets WCAG color-contrast minimums, and pages reflow to a narrow 320-pixel screen and 200% zoom without sideways scrolling (wide data tables scroll inside their own box).
- Form fields have visible labels, say which are required, support autofill, and explain errors in words next to the field.
- The county search announces how many counties match, and each zone is shown with text, not color alone.
- Animations and hover effects switch off if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Buttons and links are large enough to tap, and the phone number sits in the same place on every page.
- There is no login, CAPTCHA or puzzle anywhere on the site.
How did we test it?
On we checked every page with the automated tools axe-core and Pa11y, and Google Lighthouse, on desktop and on a 390-pixel phone screen. We also tested by hand: keyboard-only use, visible focus, 200% zoom and 320-pixel reflow, tap-target sizes, reduced motion and form error messages.
Known limitations
- Some sources we link to, such as PDF guides from EPA and other agencies, are published by others and may not be fully accessible. If you need one in another format, call us and we'll talk you through it.
- We have not yet completed a full review with every screen reader. If something doesn't work for you, please tell us.
